We are happy to announce that Picatinny Federal Credit Union is participating in The Salvation Army Angel Tree program again this year. The program helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of thousands of children around the country each year. Please join us in supporting our local community and consider making a monetary donation to the Salvation Army Angel Tree at your nearest branch between November 20th and December 8th. In addition to your generous donations, PFCU will also make a monetary donation toward the cause. Beyond the tinsel and decor, let’s shine a light on those in need this holiday season.

PFCU Annual Food Drive

We would like to take a moment to express our gratitude to all of our members for their generous donations to the PFCU Annual Food Drive. This year’s food drive was a huge success thanks to your support! We were able to provide five local food banks with non-perishable food items and a significant monetary contribution. The food banks were able to distribute the donated items to those in need, and our monetary contribution enabled them to purchase additional supplies to help even more individuals and families. It’s heartening to witness the positive impact we have made in our community during these challenging times. Below are pictures from our Food Drive. We are neighbors helping neighbors and look forward to our next event!

Tools for School

Children need a fresh start each school year, especially this year. For low-income and ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families in our community, providing the essential school supplies can be a financial hardship. That’s where United Way comes in! United Way Tools for School is an annual school supply drive that helps ensure these kids receive the tools needed for academic success. PFCU has teamed up with United Way to help provide these resources to our local Morris County community.

Together we can help thousands of local students begin the school year prepared and ready to learn! We will be collecting supplies at all of our branch locations from July 18th through August 18th. Please consider donating the next time you visit your PFCU branch.

Protect Yourself: Phone and Text Message Scam

It has been brought to our attention scammers are calling or text messaging members with the intention of obtaining personal information to commit fraud. These calls and text messages are fraudulent and PFCU is strongly advising not to interact with or respond to any of these messages.

PFCU has not and does not contact members via phone or text message asking for personal information. Furthermore, we will not ask for personal information such as user IDs, passwords, or PIN numbers when contacting members.

Do not ever provide account or card information via phone or text communication, as it poses a security risk to your information.

It should be noted that the incoming/originating number on caller ID or text message can be fabricated to appear as though the call/text is from a legitimate source or to hide the actual number on the screen. Preventative measures remain the same with all similar type scams:

If it is a phone call: Verify the source of the call and do not provide any information.
Never give out personal information or confidential data over the telephone or via a text message.
Contact the credit union and/or local law enforcement if such a call or text message is received.

Changes to PFCU’s Relationship Rewards

Effective April 1, 2021, there will be changes to our Relationship Rewards bonuses and discounts on Regular Share, Certificates of Deposits, and loans. In March of 2020, economic conditions resulting from the pandemic forced the Federal Reserve to cut short-term rates to close to zero. This has affected loan and deposit rates for all financial institutions.

Here are the changes members can expect beginning April 1:

Preferred Member:

From .25% APR* discount on select loan products to .125% APR* discount

Premier Member:

From .25% APY** bonus on regular share accounts to .125% APY**
From .25% APR* discount on select loan products to .125% APR* discount
From .10% APY** bonus on Certificate of Deposit Accounts to .05% APY**

Platinum Member:

From .50% APY** bonus on regular share accounts to .25% APY**
From .50% APR* discount on select loan products to .25% APR* discount
From .25% APY** bonus on Certificate of Deposit Accounts to .125% APY**

All other rewards will remain the same.
